III International festival "Yuri Kholopov's musical worlds"

The year 2022 marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Professor of the Moscow Conservatory Y. N. Kholopov (1932-2003). An outstanding scientist, a devotee of modern music, Kholopov laid the foundation for the Russian theoretical study of the music of the twentieth century and the current compositional process. It was Kholopov who first introduced the scientific community to new compositional and theoretical systems, and fostered a whole generation of composers and music theorists who work fruitfully in this field. The Center for Contemporary Music and the Department of Music Theory are planning to hold the Third Festival, dedicated to the anniversary of the outstanding scholar. The festival will include an international scientific conference with the participation of students of Yuri Nikolaevich working in different countries, a round table, presentations of new books and concerts.
